Planned by the Fruita Area Chamber
of Commerce as its major fundraiser, the festival is a community
event and there is never a charge for entrance.
Nearly 200 vendors sell their arts,
crafts and foods to a crowd of 30,000-plus over the 3-day event.
The weekend is filled with events including a youth
pet and talent show, a parade,
the famous bed race, a
baking
and canning contest and art
in the park. There is even free live music all weekend long
on two stages!
The festival is the winner of
the prestigious Best of the West award from the Daily Sentinel
in 2001, 2002, 2006 and 2008.
